报告摘要:
In this talk, the development of different functionality of organic electronics will be presented. The importance of recombination zone in organic light-emitting display (OLED), the exciton dissociation in organic photovoltaics (OPV) and the carrier transportation in organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) will be discussed in terms of material development, device geometry and deposition techniques. Interface between semiconductor and metal electrode plays an important role in device's stability and carrier mobility. Device's performance is not only depends on material intrinsic property, but also determined by the deposition methods, such as thermal evaporation, spin coating and printing process.
主讲人简介:
Dr. Chu has been working as a Research Officer at National Research Council Canada since 2008. He has more than fifteen years experiences in the field of organic electronics, such as OLED, OPV, OTFT and printable electronics. He holds a doctoral degree from the National Chiao-Tung University Taiwan. He has contributed more than forty publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings which have been cited more than 2300 times, and Ta-Ya is a named inventor on 8 US patents.
--OLED
He was a senior engineer/researcher at Samsung SDI, in South Korea, before joined NRC. Dr. Chu invented the first inverted bottom-emission OLED while he studied his PhD in Taiwan. He was a project leader for the development of flexible OLED at Windell/Wintek Corp. in 2003.
Received Award --Most valuable research awarded by Chunghwa Picture Ltd. in 2005 and 2006.
--OPV
Dr. Chu made a world record efficiency in the inverted organic photovoltaic (OPV) in 2011. He also served as a member of the International Scientific Committee for the world’s largest photovoltaic conference, EU PVSEC, from 2011 to 2014.
Received Award --“Outstanding Research Achievement Award” from NRC-IMS in 2011.
--Printable Electronics
He has established the printing processes for the development of all printed OTFTs, logic circuits and invented the novel methods for the printing techniques which can be used for the different applications of printable electronics.
Received Award-- "Technology Development Award" by NRC-ICT in 2016
--Flexible Electronics
He believes that the integration of different functionality of organic electronics on flexible substrate has potential to bring the novel applications into our world. He is sit on the Technical Program Chair for the organization of IEEE International Flexible Electronics Technology Conference (IFETC), in 2018, and hope to bring the experts together to identify the roadmap and technical challenges for flexible electronics in the near future.
